This course is required annually by the Office for Research Protections for those working with:

  • Infectious agents that require handling above BSL-1
  • Research using recombinant DNA technology
  • Biohazardous agents, carcinogens, toxins, or toxicants in live animals
  • Select agents and toxins

This course covers the basic concepts of biological safety in the laboratory, with special emphasis on the requirements for Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) laboratories.  It is available onine through CITI.
