This webpage lists all of the EHS training by program area. They can be searched using a specific term or filtered by program. Click on the course name to open the description. The narratives explain who needs to take the training, if it is required or recommended, If it is a one-time training or needs to be taken more than once, the format of the training, and provides a link to the training and program webpage.
Note to Students: If you are not receiving compensation from Penn State and you have not yet taken a class on Penn State’s Learning Resource Network (LRN), you will first need to create an account using your Penn State access account. Ladder Safety
Fixed Ladder Safety System Fall Protection Harness Training
This course is a one-time requirement under the PSU Ladder Safety Program for employees who use fixed ladders equipped with a Ladder Safety System. This type of system requires a fall protection harness to be worn while ascending and descending the ladder. The training covers information pertaining to the proper donning of a fall protection harness. The courses "EHS - Ladder Safety Training" and EHS – Fall protection Part 1” are prerequisites to this course.
Ladder Safety Training
This course is a one-time required training for employees who use ladders. This training covers the recognition of possible hazards, inspection, maintenance, storage, and safe use of ladders. It consists of an online module with supplemental material.
NOTES:
- For employees whose ONLY ladder use involves step stools, this training is not required. Instead, please review "Appendix E - Step Stool Safety Awareness" at this webpage: https://ehs.psu.edu/ladder-safety/forms
- For those employees who use fixed ladders equipped with a Ladder Safety System, the additional online course titled: "Fixed Ladder Safety System Fall Protection Harness Training" is also required.
