This webpage lists all of the EHS training by program area.  They can be searched using a specific term or filtered by program.  Click on the course name to open the description.  The narratives explain who needs to take the training, if it is required or recommended, If it is a one-time training or needs to be taken more than once, the format of the training, and provides a link to the training and program webpage.

Note to Students: If you are not receiving compensation from Penn State and you have not yet taken a class on Penn State’s Learning Resource Network (LRN), you will first need to create an account using your Penn State access account.  Navigate to the LRN and click on "Login to LRN.”  The links below will then take you to the correct training.

Laboratory and Research Safety

Initial Laboratory and Research Safety Training - Non-University Park Locations

This course is a one-time requirement under the Laboratory and Research Safety Plan for everyone who works in a laboratory or supervises research at any Penn State Commonwealth Campus or other non-University Park location. The format of the training is online modules with quizzes.  A separate refresher training course is required annually.

 

LRN Online Course   Laboratory and Research Safety Program

Initial Laboratory and Research Safety Training - University Park

This course is a one-time requirement under the Laboratory and Research Safety Plan for everyone who works in a laboratory or supervises research at University Park. The format of the training is online modules with quizzes.  A separate refresher training course is required annually.

 

LRN Online Course  Laboratory and Research Safety Program

Laboratory and Research Safety Refresher Training

This course is required under the Penn State Laboratory and Research Safety Plan to be taken annually starting the year after completing the Initial Laboratory and Research Safety Training for everyone who works in a laboratory or supervises research. This refresher training covers all Penn State locations.

PLEASE NOTE:  For those taking the course annually, you must click on the link below and “Request” the training each year to open a new instance of the course on your transcript.  If you go to the training from your transcript, it will not record the new date for the training on your certificate.
